High powered weapon found in Port Loyola

By BBN Staff: Belize City cops have just released information about a high profile rifle found on south side.

According to Police reports, an AK 47 was found on August 23 during a search in the Port Loyola community.

No one was in the area at the time of the discovery and so no one was ever charged.

When we contacted a Police source and asked why information on the discovery was just released, that source indicated that the week of the discovery was a very bloody one which saw four murders.

The source indicated that the Police Department did not want to cause panic in the community.
