By BBN Staff: Schools across the country were scheduled for reopening today. However, one school that will not reopen is Galen University.

That is because its Vice President, Omar Ortiz, died in a fatal vehicle accident just outside of Mahogany Heights last week.

“To mark the loss of our Dear Vice President, the administration of Galen announces that there will be no classes on Monday, September 4, 2017,” the school said in a statement issued to students.

According to the university, classes will resume tomorrow, Tuesday.

Ortiz had been at Galen University since last May.
