Queen of the Bay controversy continues

Posted: Sunday, September 10, 2017. 8:30 p.m. CST.

By BBN Staff: Following this morning’s historic display at the Queen of the Bay’s coronation, the national Queen of the Bay (QOB) Committee Chair Zenida Moya has been terminated, and the Orange Walk Committee is coronating its own Queen.

The original national QOB Committee Chair Emma Boiton, issued a letter to Moya this morning, thanking her for her services as coordinator and relieving her of the post with immediate effect.

Boiton instructed Moya to surrender all materials that are relevant to the post of national QOB Coordinator, and desist performing any duties including making decisions, issuing instructions or participating in the coronation this morning.

Meanwhile, the Orange Walk Queen of the Bay Facebook page announced that Moya’s choice for Queen, Esmeralda Cal, will be crowned in Orange Walk this evening. Breaking Belize News will be following this story.
