Early morning fire leaves one family homeless

By BBN Staff: Shortly after 12:00 a.m. today, police responded to a house fire at #6690 Sunflower Street in Belize City.

There, officers observed a 16×24 wooden structure totally engulfed in flames.

Robert Gordon, 53, reported that while he was at home with his wife he was alerted by a neighbor that his house was on fire.

The fire department extinguished the fire, however, the house and its contents were destroyed by the fire.

Police have not yet ascertained the total value of the loss. This matter is under investigation.
