Chinese businesses plan national shutdown

By BBN Staff: Chinese businesses across the country will not open on Sunday, October 1.

According to a statement from the Belize Chinese Association, the nationwide shutdown is to stand in solidarity with Bainan Wu, 58, who was executed on Monday night in his shop on Vernon Street, Belize City in a failed robbery attempt.

His burial is scheduled for Sunday.

The association expressed it’s apologies for inconveniences caused during the shutdown.
