By BBN Staff: The United States Marine’s Beyond the Horizon 2017 project continues. The project is a partnership exercise that has provided three medical events and five construction projects in communities across Belize.

The exercise started on March 25, and provided free medical and dental services for 16,834 Belizeans. It also saw the construction of medical and educational facilities in communities across Belize.

The efforts are in collaboration with the government of Belize through the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture.

Throughout Belize, the program continues to benefit Belizean students by donating school items and shoes to students and teachers throughout Belize.

Together, they have distributed over 600 student kits, 60 teacher kits, and 245 pairs of shoes to students and teachers of five schools in three districts of Belize.

The project is valued at US $11.5 million.
