By BBN Staff: October 1st is observed as International Day of Older Persons and is celebrated as a day to acknowledge, honor and re-commit our support to elder persons around the world and in our country.
This year’s theme: “Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society,” is about enabling and expanding the contributions of older people in their families, communities and societies at large.
It focuses on the pathways that support full and effective participation in old age, in accordance with elder persons’ basic rights, needs, and preferences.
