Third Mexico-Belize Bi-national Seminar on health cooperation

By BBN Staff: The Embassy of Mexico in Belize, in collaboration with the University of Belize, the University of Quintana Roo, and El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR) Unidad Chetumal, is hosting a three-day bi-national seminar under the theme “Cooperation on Health Mexico-Belize”.

The seminar will be held from October 4-6 at ECOSUR, Chetumal Campus.

The seminar will feature presentations on Mexico-Belize border health issues, and a proposal for the establishment of the Mexico-Belize Border Health Commission will be discussed along with past and present cooperation experiences in order to improve future interaction on this matter.  Speakers include both Mexican and Belizean scholars from the organizing institutions as well as specialists from the Ministries of Health of Mexico and Belize, the Quintana Roo Health Department and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).  The Belizean delegation will be headed by Pablo Marin, the CEO of the Ministry of Health Dr. Ramon Figueroa and the CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Patrick Andrews.

The organizing institutions expect to contribute towards developing a steady stream of ideas in the region for the benefit of the Belizean and Mexican peoples.
