Consumer Protection Liaison Officer for the BBS, Rodolfo Gutierrez, explained that the workshop forms a part of the bureau’s activities leading up to the celebration of World Standard’s Day on October 14.
“We want to ensure that they understand the need for standards within their processes, so when they are supporting MSMEs they ensure standardization culture is created and passed on to the groups they support,” Gutierrez said.
World Standards say is being celebrated globally under the theme “standards make cities smarter,” however, in Belize, the event is being observed under the local theme, “establishing smart partnerships.”
The meeting today and the forum scheduled for Thursday at the University of Belize’s Jaguar Auditorium, are centered around the local theme of building partnerships for standards.
