2 police officers interdicted for charges of extortion

By BBN Staff: Today, two police officers were arraigned before a tribunal for the act of prejudice of good order and discipline.

According to reports, Sergeant Sheira Nicholas and Officer Richard Dixon Polonio extorted the sum of $3,000.00 from a businessman in Punta Gorda Town so that they do not the charge him for a human trafficking offense.

The incident occurred on September 1,2017 in Punta Gorda Town.

Police reports indicate that the duo solicited a bribe.

Both officers pled not guilty.

They have since been interdicted from duty pending the outcome of this matter.
