By BBN Staff: The Belize Emergency Response Team (BERT) today issued a press release advising the public to minimize non emergency response calls since personnel from the organization are currently being affected by pink eye.

The outbreak has affected the services of the non-emergency land ambulance.

BERT assured the public that they continue to respond to emergency calls through land and air ambulance services.

BERT furthermore advised Belizeans to drive safely on the highways and to avoid exposure to risk factors that can affect their health so as to avert emergencies.

The Ministry of Health continues to advice the public that persons affected with pink eye should visit a doctor. Those who have not caught pink eye are advised to wash their hands regularly and to stay away from crowded places to minimize the spread.
