CARICOM clears Belize chickens for export

By BBN Staff: Two major chicken production companies in Belize have been ‘Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point’ (HACCP ) certified.

This means that they have been cleared by HACCP which is a food safety system within CARICOM to ensure that consumers are able to get clean, quality goods that are up to par with international sanitary standard.

Caribbean Chicken and Quality Poultry products are the two Belizean companies that met the certification and can now export chicken within CARICOM member states.

According to a report from 7 News Belize, CARICOM issued a release which declares that the approval was done on October 6 where poultry plants from six CARICOM Member States including Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago – were cleared to sell poultry products intra-regionally .
