Man shoots brother in freak accident

By BBN Staff:A Silk Grass village resident in the Stann Creek district reported to police yesterday that he shot his brother in a freak accident.

According to Aaron Wilson Guzman, 23, he and his brother, Brandon Guzman, were unloading lumber from a loader.

Aaron says he jumped off the loader with his licensed Glock pistol, which had a bullet in the chamber, and was tucked to the right side of his pants waist. The gun then reportedly fell out and landed on some nearby lumber, causing the firearm to discharge, he reported.

Brandon was shot to his right upper arm.

Aaron then quickly rendered aid and took his brother to the Southern Regional Hospital.

Police are investigating.
