Belize Food Products opening for the 2017-2018 crop

By Zoila Palma: Yesterday, the Citrus Products of Belize Limited (CPBL) issued a release informing all producers that the Belize Food Products (BFP) Factory will open for mature grapefruit and oranges from Wednesday, October 18 to Friday, October 20, 2017.

The factory will be open from 7am to 5pm daily.

The CPBL says that the short notice is due to the results of maturity testing done to date and to maximize the processing of available fruits.

CPBL further added that given the short notice, they shared the first fruit price submission with the  Citrus Growers Association (CGA) yesterday.

Monitoring of the quality of the fruit will be done by CPBL.

The company says that it is prepared to continue receiving fruit next week provided that there is sufficient mature fruits available.
