By Zoila Palma: Yesterday, the Belmopan Police Formation commenced a feeding program for students at San Martin Primary School.

Twenty five primary school students will benefit from this program getting a nutritious breakfast daily.

Officer Commanding Belmopan Police, Sr. Supt. Howell Gillett told BBN that it is crucial for the police to engage in these activities that will benefit students in the community.

“We have to engage in the lives of the young people when it matters most. If a child doesn’t have the basic of food, how do we expect them to excel in school? How can we expect them to become productive adults if we don’t give them an opportunity at this formative age.  I am grateful to everyone who made this program possible”, Gillett said.

Gillett also thanked the staff of the school, parents and the Mira family for supporting the initiative.
