Update: Chinese shopkeeper robbed and chopped with a machete in PG

By Zoila Palma: Yesterday morning, a female Chinese shopkeeper from Punta Gorda Town was robbed at her business establishment.

According to reports, between the hours of 8 and 9 am, two men armed with machetes and with their faces covered with masks entered Blue Sky Store in PG.

The men held up the owners (husband and wife) of the grocery shop and the husband began struggling with one of the robbers. The wife also tried to assist and that was when the culprit inflicted the wounds.

When the woman got chopped, her husband turned his attention to help her and that was when the culprits proceeded to take cash from the register, a cell phone and then they escaped.

Police responded to the incident and have detained two suspects.

The woman is at the Punta Gorda Hospital receiving medical treatment for the injuries.
