BTL’s CEO Rochus Schreiber

By BBN Staff: At yesterday’s house meeting, Leader of Opposition, John Briceno told parliament that BTL’s CEO Rochus Schreiber makes over US$380,000 dollars per year.

Briceno brought the CEO’s compensation package in the parliament debate because of the International Amedment Act introduced in the national assembly for BTL to borrow $35 million dollars to expand its broadband network.

“This man is collecting two hundred and ten thousand U.S. dollars, not Belize dollars; that’s four hundred and twenty thousand dollars per year. Not finished there; he gets six thousand U.S. for telephone; four thousand two hundred for Internet; twenty thousand U.S. for transportation; twenty-seven thousand U.S. for housing allowance; two thousand five hundred,” Briceno said.

“When you tally what this man is getting – he is getting three hundred and eighty-six thousand and sixty-seven dollars, U.S. dollars, Madam Speaker! Over seven hundred thousand Belize dollars this man is collecting,” Briceno further added.

However PM Barrow told parliament that he doesn’t know how much the CEO makes.

“I don’t know what the C.E.O. of BTL is making, so I would be in no position to answer you,” Barrow told Briceno.
