By Zoila Palma: The National Meteorological Center is reporting that a tropical wave is passing over Belize today.
Cloudy skies with a few showers, periods of rain and thunderstorms are forecasted over most areas today and increasing tonight.
The wind will blow from the North to Northeast at 5-15 knots.
The sea state will be choppy.
High temperatures are expected as follows: In the coast, 84 degrees Fahrenheit; 90 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 75 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.
Low temperatures for tonight in the coast are expected at 77 degrees Fahrenheit, inland at 72 degrees Fahrenheit and in the hills, 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
There is a threat of localized flooding over low lying areas and flash flooding near rivers and streams.
The extended forecast tomorrow is for cloudy to overcast skies with some showers, periods of rain and a few thunderstorms over most areas.
