By BBN Staff: Police have issued an official report on last night’s shooting incident in which a grandmother and her granddaughter were both shot.
Police say that at around 6:25 p.m., cops visited # 96 New Road in Belize City where they saw Judith Rocke, 60, suffering from a gunshot wound to the right forearm.
Rocke told police that at about 6:23 p.m. she was inside her house along with four adults and four minors when they heard several gunshots.
She then noticed she and her 7-year-old granddaughter Malli Herrera was injured.
They were then rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where Rocke was treated and discharged for injuries to her hand while Herrera who suffered gunshot wounds to her lower back and abdomen remains hospitalized.
She is listed in a critical but stable condition in the Pediatric Ward.
Police say that a white 2-door double cab F-150 pickup truck, which was parked near the residence also received damages to both doors.
