By Zoila Palma: The Iguana Creek bridge, up to this morning, still had 6-8 inches of water over the bridge.
Despite this, vehicular traffic is still using the bridge to get to Spanish Lookout.
Last week, heavy rainfall associated with a tropical wave drenched Belize and the Mopan and Macal rivers begun to raise.
The low-lying wooden bridge went underwater almost immediately after the rains came.
Last Tuesday, the Ministry of Works informed the public that the bridge in San Ignacio and Santa Elena was closed as well as the Iguana Creek bridge.
The Ministry has not yet officially declared any of the two bridges open.
