By Zoila Palma: November 19 is celebrated countrywide as Garifuna Settlement Day in Belize.
The National Garifuna Council (NGC) has announced its program of activities leading to the celebration of Garifuna Settlement Day 2017 with two national activities on Saturday November 4th in Belize City.
The first activity is the Annual Garifuna Solidarity Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Church.
The second activity, the Miss Garifuna Belize Cultural Pageant, takes place at Birds Isle starting at 6:30 p.m. This pageant showcases Garifuna Dances and language in an effort to promote Garifunaduaü.
