American on vacation found floating dead

By BBN Staff: A retired American National has been reported dead by Placencia Police.

According to reports, at about 1:49 pm yesterday, police visited an area near Naia Resort in Placencia where the motionless body of a man was seen.

The man was identified as 68 year old Robert Lotz a retired American of Illinois, USA who was on vacation in Belize.

He reportedly went kayaking at about 10:00 am on November 4, 2017.

However he was not seen until his body was discovered floating in the sea.

There were no signs of violence observed on the body.

Police are currently awaiting the results of a postmortem examination to aid investigations.
