By BBN Staff: Doris Montejo,28, a Belizean Front Line Associate for Western Union in Corozal reported to police that this morning around 9 when she was arriving at her place of employment on 4th Street in Corozal Town, a male person approached her holding to what appeared to be a firearm under his shirt.
The man demanded that she hand over her purse containing money and said, “don’t shout, hand over the money.”
Montejo handed over the purse valued at $30 that contained $10,000.00 that belonged to the business.
Montejo also handed over a smaller purse valued at $25.00 with $100.00 personal cash, and 1 Samsung Galaxy 7 Prime cellular phone valued at $1,000.00.
The total value of the stolen items and cash amounted to $11,155.
The assailant then made good his escape.
Police are investigating.
