Police investigating road traffic accident in Orange Walk

BBN Staff: On Monday night around 9, Orange Walk police responded to a road traffic accident on the Belize Road in Orange Walk Town.

 

Upon arriving at the scene, police observed a grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a gold Ford Escape in a head on collision on the right side of the road with their front portions extensively damaged.

Police investigation revealed that Apolonio Pacheco, 78, of Guinea Grass Village was driving his grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup on the Belize Road from a south to north direction, and upon approaching the Project Hope Building, Pedrito Ku, 21, of  San Jose Village who was driving the Gold Ford Escape in the opposite direction, drove into Pacheco’s lane causing the head on collision.

At the time of the incident, four passengers were involved in the accident: Gian Juchim, Rigoberto Juchim, Rowel Cruz and Amid Gomez.

Gian was treated and released from the Northern Regional Hospital whilst Rigoberto is listed in a stable condition.

Both Gomez and Cruz are listed in a stable condition at the KHMH.

Police has obtained blood samples from Ku and Pacheco.

Police investigation continues.
