Senior transport officers and terminal supervisors attend transport meeting

By Zoila Palma: The Department of Transport held a very important meeting today in Belmopan.

The meeting, which was attended by Senior Transport Officers and Terminal Supervisors from around the country addressed a range of administrative, budgetary and enforcement issues.

 In the morning, general matters were dealt with; and in the afternoon, senior officers from all districts were afforded the opportunity to raise specific matters affecting their areas of responsibility.

The meeting took place in the Conference Room at the NEMO Headquarters and was chaired by Chief Transport Officer Tirso Galvez.

Galvez stated that he is aware of the many challenges confronting the department and intends to seriously and effectively address them.

He said that he has the full support of the Minister of Transport, Edmond Castro (and by extension, the Cabinet) as well as the CEO in that Ministry, Ruth Meighan.
