Traffic accident near Tower Hill bridge

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, Nigeria Matura, 40, of Carmelita village was driving a 1989 Ford Probe SUV from a south to north direction when she lost control of the vehicle and collided into a 2013 white Ford Edge driven by Ray Hohenkirk 55, of Belize City.

The accident occurred at Mile 50 on the Philip Goldson Highway causing both vehicles to spin out of control.

The white Ford Probe turned over and on its roof while the Ford edge came to a stop on the shoulder of the road.

The entire left side of the Ford Edge was damaged including the rear axle.The passenger, Kathleen Hohenkirk, complained of pain to her neck and shoulder.

A medical doctor certified the injuries as negligent harm.

The Ford Probe was extensively damaged to the roof and had damages to the windows and windshields.

Matura complained of pain to the left arm and Santiago Cortez complained of pain to his left arm.

 Eustace Rhaburn got cut to the left ear and the left side of the head.

Police investigations continue.
