The summit is an annual high-level policy meeting dedicated exclusively to furthering global cancer control, brings together key decision makers from around the world, and encourages timely debate on emerging issues related to cancer.

The event provides an important forum to secure a coordinated, multi-leveled global response to address the spiraling cancer epidemic.

This year, the theme of the summit was “Cities Driving Change”.

During a dinner reception on November 14, Barrow gave a short presentation, sharing her story, and speaking about the need for health/cancer care services from a development and human rights perspective.
