Chief Transport Officer appeals to motorists to drive with caution

Posted: Monday, November 20, 2017. 8:42 am CST.

BBN Staff: After the third traffic accident occurred yesterday in the same vicinity on the Hummingbird Highway claiming two lives, Chief Transport Officer Tirso Galvez issued a statement on his Facebook page pleading to the public to drive carefully.

“I am hereby appealing to all drivers to please drive defensively at all times, look out for other drivers mistake. Drive at speeds you can control according to road and weather conditions. Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition, especially your tires, brakes, lights and steering,”

Galvez also reminded motorists that alcohol and drugs affects the brain and slows down reflexes and judgement.

Galvez says that he believes that the fatal accidents and those causing serious injuries are as a result of drivers’ behaviors.

“Drive safely, the life you save may be your very own. God Bless,” he ended.
