Police confirms allegation of police abuse in San Ignacio

Yacab was allegedly beaten up when he was picked up by police in San Ignacio. After complaining that he had pain, he was taken to the San Ignacio Hospital and treated then taken back into custody.

BBN requested details surrounding the incident from police and yesterday afternoon, the Belize Police Department’s press office confirmed that an allegation was made.

The Belize Police Department Professional standards branch is investigating the incident.
