By BBN Staff: Fodor’s, a world-renowned travel site, has ranked Belize as the only Central American Country in the top 10 of its 52 “Must Go” destinations to visit in 2018.

Fodors’s, which has more than 80 years experience in advising people on where to vacation, ranked Belize at #10, putting the country up there with destinations such as Marrakesh, Morocco, the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, and Salar de Tunupa, Blivia, which captured the top three spots respectively. The recommendation puts Belize above destinations such as Prince Edward Island, Canada and Taipei, Taiwan.

The site highlighted specific activities for tourists to enjoy in their Belizean experience, including Maya ruins, along with jungle and cave tours. Fordor’s went further and recommended Belizean literature, including Beka Lamb by Zee Edgell, and The Last Flight of the Macaw by Bruce Barcott, for travelers to read while visiting.

“Belize is full of rich history, rewarding explorations, and natural beauty ….part Caribbean and part Central America, Belize feels untouched by the rest of the planet, making it seem like a true getaway,” Fodor’s said.

The Belize Tourism Board, issued a statement, saying that the recognition from Fodor’s is a testament to its continued efforts of marketing Belize as a “must visit” destination.
