San Antonio villagers plea for help with suspected dog poisoning situation

Posted: Monday, November 27, 2017. 11:27 am CST.

BBN Staff: Residents from San Antonio village, Cayo contacted BBN again today to report that more dogs have died in the central area of the village.

BBN reported on Friday, that villagers were reporting observing sick dogs in the central area of the community and dogs left to die are now decaying in public areas.

This morning, another dog was seen foaming from the mouth and died almost in front of the primary school campus in the village.

Some residents believe that the animals were poisoned.

Residents are concerned since the dogs may be carrying diseases, which can be hazardous to public health.

The residents are pleading to the village council, Health or Environment department to inform them if there is an ongoing operation to exterminate dogs in the area.

They are also seeking assistance from the relevant authorities to clean the area as the dead dogs are still decaying in public locations.
