Police issues report on American tourist that fell from Maya site

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, around 11 am today, Benque Viejo police responded to a report in San Jose Succotz Village where an American tourist fell from El Castillo Pyramid at Xunantunich Maya Ruins.

Police went to the archaeological site where they observed a female lying on the ground complaining of pain.

Investigations revealed that Courtney Howard,37, an American nurse was in the process of climbing down the Maya temple when she slipped and fell about 16 feet below the site.

Howard was taken to the Hospital where she is undergoing treatment for her injuries.
