Caution! Accident waiting to happen

Posted: Wednesday, December 6, 2017. 9:54 am CST.

BN Staff: Several concerned residents and motorists have contacted BBN about a portion of the Hummingbird highway in St. Margaret’s village.

According to residents, there is a cement slab approximately 4-5 inches high adjoined to a rail guard.

The slab of concrete is apparently protruding on the highway and can possibly obstruct the flow of traffic especially in the evening time as there are no warning signs in the area and at night the slabs are hard to spot.

Some motorists fear that it may cause an accident if a driver were to be blinded by oncoming traffic and not able to see the slabs.

BBN made attempts to reach the Ministry of Works and authorities at the Ministry of Transport but no response was forthcoming.

Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution.
