Conman running wild in Belize City

By BBN Staff: Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, revealed to the press that there is a conman traveling around in Belize City ripping off residents and businesses alike.

The said conman, according to Cowo, “…poses to be a representative of a company going from business to business trying to collect money from them before a product is being delivered.”

Cowo is advising the public that in the event they encounter any such person, to “…make sure you contact the business that he is referring to so as to avoid any loss to your business establishment.”

Since last week the conman has received up to $800 from his shady schemes.

“This has been happening since last week and we are close to finding out who is this person so we can deal with him,” Cowo said.

The suspect is described as being of dark complexion, about five feet eight inches in height; and stout with a low haircut.

He has reportedly done the same in San Ignacio and Orange Walk before making his way to Belize City.
