By BBN Staff: The Energy Unit within the Ministry of the Public Service, Energy and Public Utilities in collaboration with the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) is launching Phase 3 of its Energy Efficiency Awareness Project.
This project entails the exchange of energy-inefficient lights, such as incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, with energy-efficient LED bulbs and tubes.
The project seeks to target the indigent families in Dangriga town and Hope Creek and Sarawee villages.
Persons must bring their electricity bill, dating no later than 6 months, along with their bulbs and tubes for exchange, to the distribution locations at the Belize Water Services and Havana Pharmacy in Dangriga.
The project is scheduled to commence on Monday, December 18 and will end on Friday, December 22.
Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Latin America and the Caribbean Energy Programme (PALCEE) is one of the Ministry’s ongoing projects in partnership with the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE). Under the PALCEE an integral part of the strategy is to promote the awareness of energy efficiency.
