One last international shout out for 2017

BBN Staff: Belize is rounding out 2017 with one of the biggest tourism highlights of the year, taking a place on the list for Best Winter Trips in 2018 by National Geographic’s travel site.

 

Belize landed the sixth slot on a list of nine entries, and was the only Caribbean country to be featured by name as an individual entry. Belize beat out Antartica and Baja, California on the list, solidifying the popularity of the country’s unique tourism product in the international community.

 

“English-speaking is a diver’s paradise. It’s home to the largest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere, the thousand-foot-wide Great Blue Hole, and a large concentration of scarlet macaws—easiest to spot in winter when migrating east to Red Bank,” Nat Geo said.

 

Japan took the first place, followed by Patagonia and Tanzania for second and third places respectively. Earlier in December, Independent.UK a British online news site listed Belize as one of the best places to visit during the Christmas season.
