Thief shot during robbery remanded to prison

By BBN Staff: Last week, four men entered Monica’s pawn shop in Belize City attempting to rob the place.

During the incident, one of the culprits was shot by a relative of the owners.

Yesterday, Dean Nembhard, who was shot in his left arm while fleeing the scene, appeared in court and was charged for robbery.

Nembhard pled not guilty and was remanded until January 31, 2018.

According to reports, Dorian Usher stepped outside of the business and posed as a customer. The four men held him up and he handed over some items.

As they fled, Usher pulled out his licensed firearm and he and the assailants exchanged fire.

Usher shot Nembhard and held him in custody until police arrived at the scene.
