By BBN Staff: On Thursday at 6:55 p.m., Placencia police responded to a report of a house fire in Seine Bight village in the Stann Creek district. There, officers observed a wooden structure measuring 20 feet by 20 feet with
zinc roofing completely engulfed in fire.
The fire was extinguished by the Fire Department, however, the structure and its content were completely destroyed by the fire. The owner of the house, Gregory Moreira, 47, a security guard
of Seine Bight village, was not at home at the time of the incident.
No one was hurt and the house was not insured. The house and contents are estimated to be valued at $20,000. The cause of the fire is unknown. Police are investigating.
