Police say that around 11:50 a.m., police were on mobile patrol on the Placencia Peninsula main road situated between Seine Bight and Placencia.
There, officers observed a parked grey Mitsubishi SUV in a vacant property on the left hand side of the road, about 75 yards off the main road.
Officers made further checks on the vehicle where they observed the motionless remains of a human body in an advance state of decomposition.
The woman was dressed in a long black pants and a green checkered, blouse lying face down immediately behind the SUV. There were reportedly no shoes on her feet.
Investigations revealed that the Mitsubishi SUV was rented by Kimberly Lin Stephens, 55, who resided in Washington.
She originally rented it on Saturday, December 16 and was to have it returned yesterday.
Police are investigating.
