Clerk of Court arraigned for missing money

After requesting official details from police, the police department informed that the matter was still under investigation.

However, BBN has been able to confirm that a first class clerk from the Belize city Magistrate’s Court was arraigned and given bail on a single charge of theft.

Sean Lord, 29, was taken to San Ignacio before Magistrate Hurl Hamilton where he was charged with theft of $2,010.

The news broke in November and the Belize Police department launched an investigation.

This is not the first time that money went missing under Lord’s watch.

Last year, he was also placed on leave when some monies went missing.

He was given bail in the sum of $1,000 and a surety of the same amount.

He is now on interdiction.

He is to re-appear in court on February 28, 2018.
