Officer Commanding the Crimes Investigation Branch, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo, explained yesterday that the department went to a Pollard family grave, acting on information they had received.
Armed with a certificate from the Department of Health, the Police exhumed the grave to check if there were any additional remains inside.
“There were no additional remains, so that matter is still being investigated as a missing person (report),” Cowo said.
Pollard, a 49-year-old employee of the Belize City Council was last seen alive on July 3. In the wake of his disappearance, a community group, Missing Persons-Search and Rescue Belize offered a $1,000 reward to anyone with information on his whereabouts.
Pollard is one of several missing persons whom the Police say they have no clue of where they are or what might have happened to them. That group includes Jahmal Humes and Eugenio Rodriguez
