By BBN Staff: Police have two men in custody with respect to the murder of Errol Smith.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett, explained that one of the persons detained is involved in several other criminal matters including the shooting of Jose Najera which had occurred in Belmopan last week, for which he will be charged and a charge of theft over some copper wires stolen from a phone company tower in Corozal.
That suspect was charged with theft in Corozal on Friday morning before being returned to Belmopan to face additional charges.
Sources tell Breaking Belize News that there was only one man (Ryan Hyde) charged in Corozal with respect to theft of copper wires in Corozal on Friday.
Villagers found the body of 26-year-old Roaring Creek resident Errol Smith, floating on the banks of the river on the morning of December 27, with a gunshot wound to the head. His death was one of two murders reported over the Christmas weekend.
