2018’s first murder victim

By BBN Staff: Leon Garcia became 2018’s first murder victim around 3:30 a.m. today. According to police, Raheem Reed and others were walking on Barrack Road from the direction of Newtown  Barracks when they were attacked from behind by two men.

One of the men started to make stabbing motions towards Garcia who collapsed on the ground.

The other people he was with ran towards the police check point while Reed returned and tried to help him.

During the process Reed was also stabbed to the left side of his upper rib cage.

Garcia received multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Police are looking for two suspects.
