Burnt aircraft found on Coastal Road

BBN Staff: Police have released information of an aircraft found on Sunday.

Sometime after midday, police and Belize Defence Force (BDF) personnel visited an area off the Coastal Road in the Belize District.

There, they observed a twin engine King Air Beach craft almost completely destroyed by fire. 

Near the aircraft, authorities observed an illegal airstrip. 

Police believe that this aircraft had been in this area for a few days and it was pulled from the airstrip and burnt. 

Checks were done in the nearby bush and surrounding areas but nothing illegal was found. 

Authorities continue to investigate this incident.
