Armando Monterroso charged for hit and run

BBN Staff: Yesterday, police charged Armando Monterroso, 25, for the hit and run accident that claimed the life of two people on Christmas Eve.

The accident occurred around 11:15 that night between miles 42 and 43 on the George Price highway in Cotton Tree village.

Oscar Rene Alvarado, 24 was found lying motionless and with head injuries.

Linda Carolina Hernandez, 33, was seen lying on the median of the highway convulsing in pain.

Alvarado was pronounced dead on arrival at the Western Regional Hospital. Hernandez died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Monterroso was charged with two counts of manslaughter by negligence, two counts of causing death by careless conduct, and one count of failing to stop and render aid.
