Ahmad family fear for their lives after receiving text threats

Posted: Thursday, January 4, 2018. 8:41 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: According to the family of Fareed Ahmad they are fearful for their lives after having received threats in various text messages. They allege that the text messages are coming from members of the Police Department’s Special Assignment Team (SAT).

The family held a vigil yesterday and Ahmad’s brother Abdul explained that he and his family are very concerned about their safety and are fearful for their lives: “There are very disturbing messages that we came across, obviously it shows some level of proof in regards to who those messages were sent by and to whom those messages were sent to”.

Highlighted inside the messages is that Fareed‘s murder was an organized hit, claims Abdul. The family claims that the messages also suggest that other members of the SAT team were knowledgeable of the hit on Fareed. According to the Ahmad family, there is credible information to suggest that other members of Fareed‘s family will be executed eventually.

The family has requested an independent investigation into Fareed’s murder as they firmly believe that it was an organized hit. Abdul also explained that the messages mentioned that the lead investigating officers in Fareed‘s murder, cannot do anything to stop what has been started.

On Tuesday, Michelle Brown, a member of the Police SAT team, was charged for the murder of Fareed Ahmad and she exercised her constitutional right to remain silent.
