Fareed’s murder is not a “state ordered execution” says Police

Posted: Friday, January 5, 2018. 9:43 pm CST.

BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department (BPD) today issued a statement saying that their investigation has unearthed NO evidence that Fareed Amad’s death was a “state ordered” execution.

This, according to the statement, is contrary to what is being circulated on social media. Since the murder of Fareed Ahmad, on December 28, 2017, the department has formally charged WPC Michelle Brown with murder on 1st January, 2018.

The statement goes on to clarify that the firearm issued to WPC Brown and the two (2) expended shells recovered from the vehicle have been submitted to the National Forensic Science Services for ballistic examination. In addition, a formal request has been made for telephone records which will assist greatly in their investigations.

The Commissioner of Police is assuring the family and the general public that the investigation has not stopped with the arrest of WPC Brown. “A thorough, transparent investigation continues, all leads and information will be followed up, and the family will be kept apprised,” ends the statement.
