Vernon family to protest in PG tomorrow

BBN Staff: Tomorrow there will be a protest in Punta Gorda town in connection with the January 13th death of Mario Vernon who was shot in the head by police.

Police reported the shooting was justified because Vernon pointed a firearm at a cop while being pursued.

Vernon’s family and eyewitnesses claim otherwise, suggesting it was cold blooded murder.

According to Vernon’s family, the protest will begin at 9 a.m. at the Central Park. An hour later the protesters will march through the main streets in the center of town and will meet at the Hollywood Park where a rally will be held.
