Belize and Guatemala foreign ministers to meet tomorrow in Washington

By BBN Staff: The Organization of the American States (OAS) is hosting a special meeting for permanent council tomorrow morning at 10:00 in Washington D.C., USA.

Belize’s Foreign Minister, Wilfred Elrington and Guatemala’s Foreign Minister Sandra Jovel will attend the council.

The meeting is scheduled to air live on the OAS Facebook page and website.

The Permanent Council keeps vigilance over the maintenance of friendly relations among the member states and, for that purpose, effectively assists them in the peaceful settlement of their disputes.

The order of business for tomorrow will include presentations from Elrington as well as from Jovel.

The secretary general of the OAS will also share some remarks.

The Chair of the Permanent Council of the OAS, Ambassador Juan Aníbal Barría, Permanent Representative of Chile presented a call for this special meeting between Belize’s and Guatemala’s representatives.
