By BBN Staff:Yesterday afternoon around 2:45, police responded to a report of a road traffic accident on the Burrell Boom/ Hattieville Road.
Police saw a black Toyota Rav 4 SUV in the middle of the road with damages to the front portion.
About 300 feet away from the SUV, police saw a blue Mack truck that was carrying a bulldozer.
Police investigation revealed that around 2:30 p.m., Anselm Gillett ,47, of Burrell Boom village was driving his the Mack truck on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville road and about a mile and half after the dump site, he noticed a the Rav 4, which was traveling in the opposite direction, swerved into the left lane.
Gillett said he slowed down and attempted to drift closer to the right hand side of the road.
The Toyota Rav 4, which was driven by George Young, 77, a retiree of Burrell Boom collided into the bulldozer causing extensive damage to the front portion.
A urine sample was taken from Gillett and he has been issued with a notice of intended prosecution.
Young succumbed to his injuries.
Police investigation continues.
